Detroit, MI

Project type

Social practice with a variety of manifestations. Video, sculpture, poetry, collage, and installation have evolved through an adapted type of human centered design process.

The Side Affects labyrinth is an immersive installation Ephemera Fae developed using a loose human centered design approach to their social practice. Through a series of short surveys, and one on one conversations, ideas were conceptually refined by the responses from their community. The community was made of folx who, like Fae, have come in contact with the healthcare system directly or indirectly, while seeking care for mental health, and/or supporting someone else doing so.
